1960 LaDawri Sebring

|
The Sebring and Daytona were among the most popular LaDawri
roadsters that featured exceptional engineering, from fully molded inner fender
wells, trunk pans, full door jambs with drainage, integral windshield mounted
roll bars, optional hardtops, and optional interior panels. Around 1960, the
"Daytona" shell was introduced. Although similar in size to the popular
Conquest, it had a restyled front and rear and was available in the same three
versions and for the same price as the Conquest. This new style shell was also
available as the "Sebring" with the same dimensions and prices as the Quest Q.T.,
which was the smaller version of the Conquest. Both new shells offered the advanced
engineering features that set LaDawri apart from the other special body
manufacturers. LaDawri Sebring Roadsters were
produced between 1960 and 1965.
This car is a 1960. It is powered by a
4-cylinder VW engine, with a 4-speed transmission. Before being repainted, it
showed faint evidence of roundels and numbers on the doors, although they were
very faint. We could make the number out to be either a 3 or an 8, although we
could not confirm if it was used to race, or just painted to look like it raced. The
floor plans are excellent, as you can see in the pictures. |
