Larry Eave - Meteor... (Eave
Chevy Special) |

If it has a SBC the
photo would likely be 1955 or 1956. The Buick convert is 1953
Skylark, a low production model that was part of the 1953 Motorama
special series cars like the first Corvette. The 2 port-holes in the
Meteor body look like 1954 or 1955 Buick. The 16" Dayton center lock
wire wheels and Model A quick-change rear end were more common in
40's and 50's sprint cars. I'm surprised Eave did not use an early
V8 Hildy with the Chevy engine.
The windshield is late 30's or early 40's speed boat.

The car was built, in Portland, by
Larry Eave with a Chevrolet small block motor by Chuck Rich. The car
had a semi-truss, mostly
ladder, frame. A modified model A Ford rear axle fitted with a Halibrand
quick change unit and Ford three speed transmission completed the drive
train. The front suspension consisted
of a specially fabricated tubular axle and transverse spring.
